Against great odds : the story of the McBride family
Captain John McBride though a Scot is recorded as beingness in Ireland circa 1620. John McBride married Mary Hull prior to 1750. Their son, grandson and great grandson were all named Robert McBride Robert 3rd and his married woman Margaret joined the L.D.Due south. Church in Preston, England. They and their five children emigrated to Utah. They came across the plains with the Martin Handcart company. Their descendants alive in California, Arizona and Utah. Autobiography past James McBride
James McBride (1818-1881) was the son of Thomas McBride (1776-1838) and Catherine John of Hancock County, West Virginia. In 1810, the McBride family moved to New Lancaster, Fairfield Canton, Ohio. In 1820, the family moved to Wayne Canton. While living in Wayne County, Thomas McBride and his wife Catherine and daughter Isabelle were baptized and confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-twenty-four hour period Saints in 1831. In 1833, the family unit started traveling toward Jackson County, Missouri, notwithstanding, they but made information technology to Caldwell County by 1836. They were located at a identify called Haun'south Mill on Shoal Creek. At this place in Oct 1838, Thomas McBride forth with others of the Saints was massacred. In 1844, James married Olive Mahetable Cheeney. She was the daughter of Aaron Cheeney and Mahetable Wells of Cataraugue Canton, NY. In 1846, family unit members started their trek to the Neat Common salt Lake Valley. Includes detailed history of the trek and settling of the Valley. Descendants are located in Utah, California and elsewhere.

Samuel Cooey/Couey (b.before 1746-d.1789) was probably built-in in Republic of ireland. He emigrated to South Carolina in 1767 and was granted 100 acres of state in the Long Cane surface area of Granville Co., SC. He married Mary and they were the parents of the following known children: Sarah, the female parent of John (b.1767/74 who married (2) Ann Keely (1778-1785); William (b.1730's-d.1790-1800) who married Jane and was granted 300 acres of land in the Long Cane area; and Joseph Cooey/Cowie/Couey (b.1764-d.1844) who died in Chattooga Co., GA. A descendant, John Harvey Couey (1813-1882) married Matilda McFerrin (1820-1885) in 1839 and they were listed in the 1840 Lowndes Co., Alabama census. Their grandson, John William Lee Couey (1867-1941) married Mary "Mollie" Wesley (1868-1954) in 1887 and they were listed in the 1900 Butler Co., Alabama census. Several generations of descendants are given.

History of David Crandall & Margaret McBride Crandall
David Crandall (1792-1862) was built-in in New York to Pardon Crandall and Susannah Wells. He was a descendant of John Crandall who came to America in 1635 and settled in Rhode Isle where the family remained until Pardon settled in New York. In about 1810 David married Margaret McBride and they were the parents of twelve children. In 1833 the Crandalls were baptized into the LDS Church. The Crandalls were actively involved in the Church building and went through the persecutions in Missouri. They later settled in Illinois where Margaret died in 1845. A few years afterward, David married Mrs. Jerusha Smith and they remained in Illinois until his death in 1862. All but 4 of his children settled in Utah.

Jacob Thousand. Shuman, son of Jacob Shuman and Mary Witman, was built-in in about 1814 in Manor Township, Lancaster Canton, Pennsylvania. He amrried Frances Staman, daughther of John Staman and Frances Hiestand, in 1845. They had two daughters, He died in 1858.

James Harris Despain : his family and descendants
James Harris Despain was born in 1808 in Kentucky. He was a farmer and wagon-maker. He married 1) Seletha Sanders Smith, with whom he had ten children and ii) Celia Ann Reynolds, who was the female parent of 12 children. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-twenty-four hour period Saints and came west to Utah with his family. They settled in Grantsville. Many of his descendants yet alive in the Utah surface area.

Jeremiah Henderson Basham, son of Carey Jackson Basham and Annie Warner, was born January 28, 1857 in Breckinridge Canton, Kentucky. He was married December 6, 1877 in Daviess County Kentucky to Sarah Ellen Higgs, daughter of Alfred Higgs and Sarah Jane Calloway. Ellen was born June 18, 1862 in Daviess County, Kentucky, and died January five, 1929. Jerry died December 3, 1942. They are cached in Dukes, Kentucky. Their descendants lived chiefly in Kentucky and Tennessee.
